Cutting Out the Sugar Cravings in Your Diet

Some food manufacturers engineer products to contain (from their point of view) the optimal balance of sugar and high fructose corn syrup. Then when you eat them you feel maximum crave and keep eating, drinking and buying more of their products. Its what they call your bliss point!

They aim for that sweet spot that keeps you coming back for more. Its why you’ll find sugar in spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, ketchup, yogurt and (watch out for this!) low-fat, processed, frozen foods that say healthy or lean on the package.

But what can you do about it? see here

According to the latest research, it may be on your breath.

It turns out that obesity may be detectable as a gas, thanks to organisms that inhabit our gut. In a study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, researchers extend our knowledge about the hidden universe of the  that live within us to show that obesity is associated with certain populations of microbes that give off a distinctive gas.

HUNGRY!

This has already been said, this isn’t unusual and there are quite a few people who do go through it but I would like to reinforce the fact that it will pass.

Personally during those hungry times I found eating fat was always the good way of dealing with the hunger and also it gave the body more of what it was needing as it was now trying to or attempting to consume fat for energy.

Above all, know that the short period of discomfort will be well worth it as over the days, weeks and months ahead you start seeing the new slim you in the mirror.

Hope that helps,

Let Them Eat Fat

???????????????????????????????????????You know the strange thing is even though I’m the most healthy person amongst my group of friends they still marvel or actually complain at the amount of fat that I eat when we’re eating together and even after all these years I still get “Oh aren’t you afraid your cholesterol will go through the roof?” Of course to which I reply “I don’t have cholesterol problems. Why would I be afraid of it going through the roof?” It’s still often met with gasps and half joking and half sincere offers to phone the ambulance when I have a heart attack.

But sometimes you know I don’t think this semi lighthearted banter is really so much out of concern from my health and well being. I think a lot of it is purely out of jealousy because I obviously enjoy what I’m eating whereas many times my eating companions don’t really seem to be doing so.

Don’t you just love being low carb?

Cheers,

Mark

Looking at current pictures makes me mad!

Those of you who are parents and particularly moms will instantly understand what I’m talking about now.

It seems we spend our lives wanting the best for others and loving others more than we ever do ourselves and truthfully even  if we’re not parents in many ways it’s  human nature to want the best for others quite often more than we want the best for ourselves.

None of us I believe would deliberately want somebody else to be harmed by our actions and in fact most of the time we do our very best to ensure that those around us get the best out of life and that action and understanding and attitude is all fine and dandy except when it comes to ourselves.

If we had truly loved ourselves as much as we loved those around us then we would not let ourselves get into the state physically such that just catching a quick glimpse of ourselves can be so disheartening, disappointing and a shock  that brings us back to reality and it’s that shock that presents us with two new  challenges.

The first is really a continuation of what we’ve been doing all of our lives. If we truly love those around us, those that we really care for then that unselfish drive that we have deep within us requires us to stay around and be there for them. That obviously means that we need to be healthy if we want to live a long life.

That is probably something that underlines the real reason why many of us chose to do something about our unhealthy, overweight and unfit state but the real key here is not doing what we’re doing just for others but start doing it for ourselves as well.

The real challenge here is just like we love our children unconditionally is to start loving ourselves unconditionally as well simply because the things that we love the most get the most care and attention from us.

So here’s the challenge ladies and gentlemen, next time you pass a mirror look at yourself right in the eyes and say with feeling “I LOVE YOU”. You might go silly, you might feel daft telling yourself that you love yourself but frankly unless you can start doing that you’re missing out on one of the most powerful forces that we have.

It is after all not for nothing that it’s written “Love overcomes all evil”.

Hope that helps,

Mark
